Our Fiftieth Class Reunion
You told yourself, this reunion is not for me,
But that is because you could not see,
All the faces and the memories it would bring,
As we gather once again not for the school bell to ring.
Your classmates worked so hard and steady,
Failing was not their mantra and everything would be ready,
All the meeting that lasted for an hour or less,
We all know any longer would not perpetuate the best.
You knew all your participation would be worthwhile
Over 75 attended our reunion generating gleaming smiles,
All reminisce our school days of old,
To recapture the ties that made our class pure gold.
So we all sat back and breathe a year of air,
By volunteering my family knew they would be included for this vital affair,
No one knows what the future will bring for us,
For God is in control that we can trust.
Going toward the sundown in our lives we must remember,
Our 50th Class Reunion in 2015 in the month of September,
If we had to rate all our life’s weekend
Certainly this one would generate a resounding ten.
